De mossen van Ameland
B.F. van Tooren & E.J. Weeda
|

The distribution of bryophytes on the Dutch island of Ameland is discussed. In total 163 bryophytes have been recorded from Ameland; 21 of these species are probably extinct nowadays. During the last decennia several changes in the bryophyte flora can be recognized. There is an impoverishment of the bryophyte flora of Nanocyperion vegetation and of young moist and calcareous dune valleys. At the same time there is an increase of terrestric bryophytes of relatively acid soils. The recorded strong increase of epiphytes is probably the result of a reduction of SO2-emission in the Netherlands, and an increase of Sambucus nigra on the island. Enkele bijzondere vondsten van (en aan) mossen op Texel en Vlieland

In recent years several new bryophyte species could be added to the flora lists of the Wadden Sea Islands of Texel and Vlieland. The most remarkable of these new finds was the Mediterranean-Atlantic moss Bryum provinciale Philib., which formerly reached its northeastern most limit of distribution in Belgium, but has apparently been spreading into the calcareous sand dunes in Holland in recent years, see als Kruijsen & Damm 1997. The present paper also contains a report on the ascomycete Bryostroma trichostomi (Roll.) Döbb.,a new species for The Netherlands, which was discovered as a parasite on Didymodon vinealis (Brid.) Zand. in the Texel sand dunes. Locaties in dit artikel: Eerste Kroonspolder (atlasblok: 04-36) - Eierlandsche duinen (atlasblok: 04-54)

Three species (Arthonia epiphyscia, Bacidia saxenii and Macentina stigonemoides) are recorded for the first time for the Netherlands. Notes of morphology, ecology and distribution are included. Some more information is given for three rare species.

Lichenologische en bryologische fietsexcursie rond Amersfoort op zondag 27 oktober 1996

A field trip on bicycles was made in the surroundings of Amersfoort by lichenologists and bryologists together. The exuberant vegetation of Cladonia at the Leusderheide was very special. Very remarkable was Ptilidium ciliare growing higher up on a nearly horizontal part of the trunk of an oak tree. Twigs of Larix covered all over by Hypogymnia physodes are seldom seen in the Netherlands.

Lichenen in de Kop van Noord-Holland (1)

Until now the outermost north of the province Noord-Holland, with the exception of the island of Texel, was little known so far as lichens are concerned. In three short articles the situation in this part of the country will be recorded. An excursion was made to elms (Ulmus procera) in the Anna Paulowna-polder. Ramalina lacera, which is on the Red List, was found. Other interesting species were Parmelia soredians, which is rapidly spreading over the country, and Lepraria rigidula, which covered a great part of an elm-tree. The find of Dimerella pineti was quite unexpected in these parts.
