Het voorjaarsweekend 1994 naar Soest
A.C. Bouman & B.F. van Tooren
6-19

The Spring Meeting 1994 was held in het Gooi, de Vechtstreek and the Utrechtse heuvelrug in the central part of the Netherlands. The report includes two other meetings in the same region in 1994 and the results of a 1980 meeting to Kortenhoef. During these meetings 156 species of bryophytes have been found, including 25 red data list species. Enkele bijzondere mosvondsten in de Knopbiesvegetatie van de Muy op Texel
C.J.W. Bruin
20-28

Two “rich-fen” bryophytes, Ctenidium molluscum and Rhizomnium pseudopunctatum, were discovered in Schoenus nigricans-fens in dune-slacks on the isle of Texel. Relevés of the vegetation with the two species are presented in the text. It is presumed that the rare occurrence of both mosses in dune-slacks is related to the rarity of the hydrology-type of the slacks in question. Both slacks are influenced by drainage measurements in nearby cultivated parts of the same area. As a consequence large-scale and prolonged inundation in winter, which is the normal situation in wet dune-slacks, has become impossible. On the other hand the drainage is not so strong that it would cause fatal drought in the slacks; ground water is available to the plants all year round. The drainage merely ensures a constant flow of base rich ground water from neighbouring dunes to these slacks. The combination of these two factors results in the development of a “mixed” vegetation with calcifuge elements on tops of old Schoenus-tussocks and more basiphilous plants in lower parts of the vegetation. Rhizomnium pseudopuncatum grows on the sides of the tussocks, as well as on low hummocks, but avoids the higher tussock-tops. Ctenidium molluscum grows in a vegetation that is grazed by cattle in summer and autumn. Therefore the pattern of tussocks and interspaces in this Schoenus vegetation is less pronounced than in the ungrazed vegetation with Rhizomnium pseudopunctatum and the moss-layer mainly contains calcicoles. Nevertheless Ctenidium too showed a preference for an intermediate position between tops and depressions. Locaties in dit artikel: Texel, De muy (atlasblok: 09-14)
Lichenen van de najaarsexcursie 1994 naar Schouwen, Walcheren en Noord-Beveland
A. Aptroot & C.M. van Herk
29-35

The lichenological excursion to parts of Zeeland confirmed that the lichen flora is still rather rich, but declining. Several species, notably Bryoria capillaris and Ramalina baltica, which were restricted to the area, were not found and should be regarded as extinct in the Netherlands. Maritime species like Caloplaca marina, C. salina and Lecanora helicopis occurred on wood and both siliceous and calcareous rock on dykes.

36-46

On November 19th 1994 five lichenological excursions were organised in relation to the publication of ‘Veldgids korstmossen’ (Fieldguide Lichens). The excursions attracted more than a hundred participants. Below the itineraries and major finds are described.
Het najaarsweekend 1993 in Drenthe

The autumn meeting 1993 was held in Diever in the province of Drenthe. Remarkable finds were Ptilium crista-castrensis and Nowellia curvifolia. Chaenotheca chlorella ook in Nederland
C.M. van Herk
53-53

Chaenotheca chlorella (Ach.) Müll. Arg. is found on a very old oak tree along a pasture between woods in the central part of the country.
Lecanora nemoralis nieuw voor Nederland
C.M. van Herk
54-54

Lecanora nemoralis Makar. is found for the first time in the Netherlands on two young wayside oak trees in the northern part of the country.
Massaal optreden van Aloina brevirostris
C.G. Buter
55-58

After 11 years a second mass appearance of Aloina brevirostris in the Netherlands is reported. This time near the village of Rijen on the loamstock of a former brickyard in almost the same habitat as the first report near the city of Eindhoven in 1983. Verslag van de excursie naar het Hulshorsterzand, 25 maart 1995
A. Aptroot & B.F. van Tooren
59-62

An excursion to the Hulshorsterzand, an inland dunes area in the central part of the Netherlands, yielded many well developed Cladonia vegetations. On the stumps of felled Pinus trees specimens of Bryoria subfuscescens and Usnea subfloridana were found. Locaties in dit artikel: Hulshorsterzand (atlasblok: 26-48)
De lichenen van Schovenhorst te Putten
A. Aptroot
63-66

Schovenhorst Estate in Putten (Gelderland) consists a.o. of an Arboretum and a Pinetum. An inventory is made of the lichen flora of the estate, revealing 73 species. Many species occur on exotic trees, which are usually species-poor. The most interesting tree was a young Juglans glabra with Normandina pulchella (a declining and now very rare species in The Netherlands) and a species of Fellhanera, differing from F. subtilis in the 1-septate spores and the dark ascocarps. Two different epiphytic Porina species were found, viz. P. aenea and P. chlorotica s.s.
