The eastern part of the province Noord-Brabant has been investigated on lichens by the first author since 1983. The second author has carried out a survey by order of the local government in 1993. This report mentions interesting lichen records of these studies with additional observations. Some rare nitrophytic species which seem to have increased this decade are discussed.

For the first time Fellhanera subtilis (Vezda) Diederich & Sérusiaux is recorded from The Netherlands; this lichen has been found on a drooping bough of an oak in ''De Treek'' near Amersfoort.

A two-day meeting with 6 lichenologists from The Netherlands was arranged in the province of Drenthe in September 1993. A list of 173 lichen records is presented. Pyrenocollema monense is published from The Netherlands for the first time. Several other lichen records are mentioned for the first time for the province of Drenthe.
